About Cantata Singers

The Prince George Cantata Singers is British Columbia’s Central Interior premier adult mixed-voice choir (soprano, alto, tenor, bass). Founded in 1968, our 60–80 members, now led by Interim Music Director, Neil Wolfe, enjoy performing a variety of musical styles including classical, folk, gospel, jazz, ethnic, and pops. We also perform with other local, regional, and national artists.

We have traveled to other BC communities such as Smithers, Dawson Creek, Fort St. John, and Mackenzie to perform. We also regularly participate in the Prince George Music Festival, in community fundraisers and outreach performances. We are proud to play an active role in the local arts community.

After 50 wonderful years, sharing our voices with each other and the surrounding community continues to be our passion!   If singing is your passion, come try us out!  September and January are our new member intake months.

The Cantata Singers recognize and encourage singing as a means of artistic expression and an activity that can provide numerous health benefits. We believe that singing can be a life-long activity and are very lucky to have Colin Dix, a founding member of Cantata Singers in 1968, still singing with us! Colin is pictured below receiving the BC Choral Federation's Herbert Kent award in May, 2014 for longtime service.
