Prince George & District Music Festival - Award

In 2020, the Prince George Cantata Singers participated in the Prince George and District Music Festival. The choir prepared Wade in The Water, an a capella Spiritual, which we sang with great passion, and Dirait-On, a lyrical piece from a song cycle by Morten Lauridsen. The choir received high marks and very positive comments from the adjudicator. Most notable were compliments on our very good dynamic variation and on our pitch and blend. Every choir member walked away from that performance with a feeling that we achieved a very special performance which touched the audience. We were very proud of consequently receiving a recommendation to participate in the BC Festival of the Arts, a provincial music competition for participants who perform at the top of their District Festivals.
