Board of Directors

Kara Steel, President

Kara Steel comes from Toronto, Ontario where she has sung in various choral groups since she was 5 years old. She joined the Prince George Cantata Singers as a Soprano 2 in the winter of 2021 and has thoroughly enjoyed the choral atmosphere and various performance opportunities.

Kara has a great love for mixed voice choral work and, although a new member of the Cantata Singers, she has risen to the leadership challenge of President of the Board of Directors. With the help of her fellow Board members, Kara is determined to build the PGCS membership back to pre-pandemic levels and ensure a successful choral season.

Outside of the PGCS, Kara works for the Ministry of Forests and enjoys several other hobby interests including musical theatre, piano, quilting and trail walking with her dog.
