Each year, the Prince George Cantata Singers present two to three concerts at venues across the community, celebrating the joy of choral music in all its diversity. Our performances explore a rich variety of themes and repertoire — from timeless classical works to contemporary choral pieces — often sung in multiple languages and styles.
Under the direction of our talented Artistic Director, Carolyn Duerksen, and accompanied by Maureen Nielsen, audiences can expect engaging programs that highlight both the artistry of our choir and the beauty of collaboration. We are frequently honoured to perform alongside the Prince George Symphony Orchestra (PGSO) in major productions such as Fauré’s Requiem and Handel’s Messiah, continuing our long-standing partnership in bringing exceptional music to the Prince George community.
For our own concerts, we often perform at St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church — our rehearsal home — as well as the Knox Performance Centre and other local venues that offer resonant acoustics and welcoming spaces for audiences. Wherever we sing, our goal is the same: to share music that inspires, connects, and uplifts.
Songs of Remembrance ~ Songs of Peace

The Gospel Church, 448 Connaught St, Vanderhoof, BC
The Two Rivers Community Orchestra and the Prince George Cantata Singers invite you to an afternoon of music in the hope of peace.
Under the direction of José Delgado-Guevara and Carolyn Duerksen, the orchestra and choir come together for Songs of Remembrance ~ Songs of Peace, a contemplative program that holds space for all whom war has touched: the peacemakers, the veterans, those who did not return, and those who carry the cost of conflict still. The music moves from folk songs you may already know, like Where Have All the Flowers Gone, through Elgar's Nimrod and Dvořák's New World, to choral settings of For the Fallen, In Flanders Fields, and Grant Us Peace. Marie Hay will guide the afternoon with spoken reflections, and the intermission will be observed as fifteen minutes of shared silence. We ask that applause be held until the close of the concert.
Tickets are by donation. Give what feels right.
Christmas Carol Singalong!
Saturday, Dec 19, 2026 at 2:00pm & 7:00 pm
St. Michael and All Angels Church
Grab your scarf, warm up your voice, and join the Prince George Cantata Singers for the merriest afternoon (or evening) of the season! Under the direction of Carolyn Duerksen, with Maureen Nielsen at the piano and Roxi Dykstra on viola, the choir is throwing open the doors of St. Mike's for a Christmas Carol Singalong, and you're invited to sing right along with us.
Expect all the favourites you may already know by heart: Jingle Bell Rock, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman, Deck the Halls, Let It Snow, and a gentle, glowing finish with O Come All Ye Faithful and Silent Night. In between, the choir will share a few pieces of its own, and readers will bring us winter poems from Robert Frost, Thomas Hardy, Christina Rossetti, and Québec’s own Gilles Vigneault, read in French. Sing every word, hum the chorus, or just soak it all in. There’s no wrong way to carol.
At just about an hour with no intermission, this one is perfect for families, little carolers included. Then stick around for our Cookies and Cocoa mingle! Proceeds go to a local charity, a sweet way to share the season with your neighbors.
Admission is by donation. Give what feels right, and come as you are.
